Question: How are lottery instant tickets reconciled?
Answer:
- Select the method by which the lottery sales will be counted:
a) Single tickets: only the instant ticket sales entered in the Lottery Count form will becalculated;
b) Lottery department sales: both scanned and unscanned ticket (made through the lottery department) sales will be calculated. - Open the Cash Register section of Station Options and select Calculating Lottery Instant Tickets Sales by parameter.
Note: For more information on how to set up station options, see Advanced Settings. - Open the Lottery Count form and click on a grid > select a UPC or the name of the ticket from the drop-down list.
- Select the position and serial for the ticket > enter the physical inventory and number of tickets sold > click the Sold Out column (to mark the pack as sold out).
- Click Save.
Note: The information entered will be added to Online Lottery Sales and the Total Lottery Sales (minus paid outs) will be shown in the Cash Register form of Cash Reconciliation under the Lottery Cash field. If both single ticket and lottery department sales were both selected, the Total Ticket Sold value will include department sales. - If the lottery sales are negative, the Lottery Cash field will be empty. To adjust the money totals, make Lottery Paid Outs equal to Lottery Sales. Enter the negative sales value into Expenses and subtract either from the Cash field or from the Lottery Cash of the next day.
