Question: How to reformat a .txt file to .csv and upload it to CStoreOffice®?
Answer:
  1. Open your .txt file in Notepad or any other text editor.
  2. Press CTRL + A on the keyboard to select all data in the file.
  3. Press CTRL + C to copy the data.
  4. Open Excel and press CTRL + V to paste data onto spreadsheet.
  5. Under Paste, select Use Text Import Wizard.
  6. In the Text Import Wizard form:
    1. Select Delimited and My data has headers and then click Next.
    2. In the Delimiters list, select Comma, clear Space and then click Next.
    3. Click Finish.
  7. In the Excel spreadsheet:
    1. Select the GTIN column data.
    2. In the Home menu, go to the Number section and click the General list.
    3. In the General list, select 12 Number.
    4. Remove the decimal points two places to the right. In the Number section, click Decrease Decimal.
    5. Make sure the GTIN column data is still selected.
    6. In the Number section, click the General list again.
    7. In the General list, click More Number Formats.
      Result: The Format Cells window opens.
    8. In the Format Cells window, go to the Category list and click Custom.
    9. In the Type field, type thirteen zeroes. When finished, make sure there are fourteen zeroes in the Type field. If not - add one more zero.
    10. Click OK
  8. Save the file. Go to File > Save As.
  9. Name the file and save as a CSV (comma delimited) format.
  10. Go to CStoreOffice®.
  11. From the CStoreOffice® main page, go to Inventory > Inventory Audit.
  12. On the right of the Upload File field, click the drop down arrow and click CSO Inventory File Format.
  13. Upload the CSV file that you saved.
    Result: A message notifying you that the upload was successful appears.
    Note: If there are any errors in your file, they are displayed on the screen. You need to fix them before the file can be uploaded.
