Question: How do users clock/log in in SmartPOS?
Answer:
Users are required to clock in to the register so that they may ring under their own employee name or the name of the store. The name of each employee should be listed by the manager or owner in the system. They should be entered in using the SmartPOS register or by the C-Store office software. Naming each employee who uses the register aids with tracking sales and errors caused by the users.
  1. Check to see how many SmartPOS cash drawers are being used.
Note: If only one is used on one register, only one cashier can be logged into the system at a time.
  2. Ensure that you are on the first page with the list of employee names (on the left hand column).
  3. Select the user name.
Note: If the user has not already clocked in, select the Open Pay Point option, then type in your PIN number.  The cash drawer will now open.
  4. Enter the amount of money in the drawer.
Note: This can be done one of two ways: by entering the quantity of every bill and coin in the drawer, or by going below those fields and typing in the total amount of money in the drawer.
  5. Now you can ring items on the register.
